Characterization of Lansoprazole by Benchtop NMR Spectroscopy

Quantifying the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) is essential in drug development, manufacturing, and quality control / quality assurance. Quantitative NMR spectroscopy is a primary method for quantifying APIs.
Lansoprazole is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux; and is used as an example to show how a small drug molecule can by characterised and quantified by one-dimensional proton and carbon-13 NMR, along with COSY, HSQC & HMBC two dimensional spectra on the X-Pulse Broadband Benchtop NMR Spectrometer.
